Tesla's Full Self Driving (FSD) system does not detect children's pedestrians properly, according to a test result.

According to a British daily Guardian report on the 11th, the "Dawn Project," a private organization, claimed in recent tests that Tesla's latest version of FSD beta software failed to identify a stopped child mannequin when running at an average speed of 25 miles (40 kilometers) per hour. The Dunn project is conducting a safety measures campaign led by software experts.

"Tesla CEO Elon Musk says its autonomous driving technology is amazing, but it is not, and it is a fatal threat," said Dan Odauddon, CEO of the project.

More than 100,000 Tesla drivers are already using FSD technology on the road, putting children at risk, he said. "We need to ban Tesla's autonomous driving technology until child safety on crosswalks is proven."

Since June, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has been expanding its investigation of 830,000 Tesla cars across all four models, the Guardian said. "Question about Tesla's safety continues to increase."

Tesla's controversial Full Self Driving (FSD)

Earlier, Tesla's FSD function was also embroiled in controversy over exaggerated advertisements. California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) pointed out that Tesla's autopilot and FSD functions were exaggerated as if they were self-driving control, even though they were "assistance devices" to help drivers drive.

Autopilot is Tesla's Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology. Tesla explains that the autopilot function allows the vehicle to be automatically steered, accelerated, or braking in the lane. Autopilot is built-in when purchasing Tesla vehicles and allows you to select the upper version of the FSD option through additional purchases. The FSD comes with automatic lane change, automatic parking, and vehicle call functions.

In the complaint, DMV emphasized, "Tesla announced and distributed content that was not true or misleading. Tesla cars equipped with autopilots and FSD functions are not autonomous vehicles."

It is reported that DMV is even considering suspending its vehicle sales license if Tesla demands Tesla to correct false advertisements. California is the largest electric vehicle market in the United States, with 120,000 units sold in California, 34 percent of the total U.S. sales.
